- Destin Harbor: Luther's lists a blue kiosk at 200 Harbor Blvd, then a walk downhill to the harbor. It is a Yamaha Waverunner rental on Choctawhatchee Bay with Crab Island access, 1 to 8 hours.
- Okaloosa Island: the rental checks in at the building on the beach behind the Quality Inn and Suites, the same base as the guided Crab Island and islands tours. Okaloosa Island sits on the west side of East Pass.
- Fort Walton Beach: Island Watersports Company lists a check-in kiosk at 1318 Miracle Strip Pkwy SE, free parking and listed hours of 10:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Sunday.
How do you choose between the three rental bases?
Pick by where you want to ride and how long: Destin Harbor for a long bay day with Crab Island access, Okaloosa Island for short slots next to Crab Island, Fort Walton Beach for a longer self-drive from a quieter check-in.
Crab Island is a submerged sandbar just north of the Marler Bridge on the Okaloosa Island side of East Pass, so the Okaloosa Island base is close to it, and Luther's lists Crab Island access from the harbor. The Fort Walton Beach listing describes a ride along the Emerald Coast where dolphins and birds may be seen.
